Based out of Pinedale, Wyoming, Rooster is an award winning professional bluegrass fiddlist and singer/songwriter with over twenty years of experience performing and writing music.
In the beginning of his career in music, Rooster was a competitive fiddlist who frequently placed in the top of his division and often won first place titles at competitions all across Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. In more recent years, Rooster toured the Intermountain states extensively as a member of Salt Lake City based Alt-Country band, Matthew & The Hope.
Rooster frequently hires out to fellow touring bands across the West. He is currently playing for a nationally touring, one-man blues and country band, Tom Bennett of Villa Rica, Georgia. As a duo, Rooster and Tom have been featured as the opening act for Grammy nominee, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band.
Beyond hiring out as a fiddlist for professional bands, Rooster tours the Western states as a one-man country band.
Rooster performs original compositions about whiskey, cowboying, love (both lost and found) and good ol' country living. He infuses his performances of original music with time-tested covers from favorite bands and artists such as The Rolling Stones, Chris Knight, James McMurtry and Jason Isbell/The Drive-By Truckers.
Rooster's music is often described as Cowpunk; a mix between old country acts such as Hank Williams Sr., George Jones and Waylon Jennings combined with newer acts such as Hank III, Robert Earl Keen and Wayne "The Train" Hancock.
Rooster's music is guaranteed to leave listeners thirsty for sounds that stir the soul and inspire the imagination.
