Western's First-Ever State Automotive Challenge

High school students from Wyoming and Utah are invited to compete for scholarships and prizes.

Western Wyoming Community College’s Automotive Technology Program and Auto Skills USA Club are hosting the first annual State Automotive Challenge on March 15th.

The competition is for high school student from Wyoming and Utah to test their knowledge and skills within automotive service, repair, and diagnosis. There will be prizes and scholarships available to the winners. Lunch will also be provided for participants.

Once signed in, students will be scheduled to move through approximately 10 stations within Western’s shop related to the automotive field.  There will be guides and judges for each station.  The students will also take a written test. During downtime, students will have the opportunity to tour the campus.

It is free to enter, and any high school interested in competing can contact Casey Hardin and inform him of the number of students who will be in attendance. Students will register upon arrival. The Automotive Challenge will highlight the automotive field, challenge students, and familiarize students with Western’s campus, Automotive Program and facilities.
