About Us

What We Do:
The Sweetwater Family Resource Center provides safe, well-structured programs and services for families and individuals in our community to promote their well-being. It works toward a community of stable and non-violent families and individuals. The Sweetwater Family Resource Center operates Family Support, Family Visitation and Family Independence Programs.

Who We Are:
The Sweetwater Family Resource Center conducts the following programs:

Family Visitation supervises visitation between children and non-custodial parents, and facilitates custody exchanges between parents who are not together, so that children can safely spend time with both parent while avoiding overt conflict, maintaining positive relationships with the significant adults in their lives and reducing feelings of abandonment.

The Family Support Program works toward reducing child abuse and neglect and promotes positive family functioning. It conducts classes in anger management, parenting, and financial management in the community and at the Sweetwater County Detention Center.

The Family Independence Program provides temporary and limited financial assistance with rent, utilities, gas, hot water heaters and furnaces, helping families to avoid homelessness or inadequate housing situations while taking steps to improve their independence.
